Darwin Day 2 - The Earthquake

So, as the title says, it was literally our second day in Darwin and at approximately 12:30 an earthquake with a rating of 7.2 that originated in the Banda Sea was also felt in  Darwin.

At the time we were shopping in the NT General Store for various items needed for our 5-day camping trip to Kakadu. When it hit, the floor shook and then rolled, creating the feeling like being on a roller coaster.

I thought I had imagined it, but looking at Peter realised he felt the same. Nobody said or did anything in the store, but the radio was on and they reported that an earthquake had hit.

Having completed our chores for the day, we set out to Fannie Bay and the sailing club. What a beautiful place for a nice meal watching the sun setting over the bay.
